Our Story
Buchanan Art was founded by Zoë and Rob, a husband-and-wife team brought together by a shared belief in the power of art.

Rob’s enthusiasm for art started at an early age, always gravitating towards drawing, but his career initially took him around the world as a ski instructor, spending over a decade working across Europe, Japan and Australia. Photography became his creative outlet during those years, until a snapped achilles and the pandemic unexpectedly brought him back to England, and back to drawing. What began as revisiting a childhood passion soon evolved into becoming a full-time artist.

Zoë built her career within the creative industries as a designer, developing a deep understanding of colour, composition and visual storytelling through over a decade of experience in print and textile design.

In 2022 we opened Folkestone Art Gallery, where we built relationships with a growing network of artists while placing artwork into local hospitality venues and private homes.

Through this experience we noticed a clear gap.
​
Talented artists were searching for opportunities beyond traditional galleries, while designers needed trusted partners to help source artwork that truly elevated their projects.

Buchanan Art was created to bridge that gap.

Today we work with interior designers, hospitality spaces and private clients to source and curate original artwork, connecting talented artists with projects where their work can truly belong.
